Promoting Your Home Party Plan Business Online

Home party plans have been around for years; with companies such as Tupperware and Home Interiors coming to mind. There was a time when those looking to build a business by joining a home party plan had just a handful of choices. However, these days if you do a search for home party plans online you can easily find hundreds of direct sales companies offering the home party structure. The nice thing about having access to the internet is the fact that you don't have to stay in your own community to build a business. What many home party plan reps will do is advertise on work at home sites geared toward women to find recruits to join their team. In fact, those who aggressively build their business online have the potential of building a large downline over time. There are disadvantages to building your business online. After all, you aren't there in person to help train and motivate your team. However, if you are able to connect with those who have experience or, who are very motivated self starters then you can be successful building a team online. Another obstacle in building your direct sales business online is competition. Fortunately there are creative ways to stand out from the competition. For example, many direct sales companies offer a company website with their own unique id that reps can use to promote their business online. However, to really stand out you can brand yourself by creating a blog. You can add additional information about your business on your blog as well as a link to the company website. Update your blog often (at least twice a week). What should you blog about? Blog about how you got started in the business, why you chose the home party plan that you are with and maybe add some tips or party games to keep visitors coming back. Go ahead and post about upcoming specials but try to keep the tone of your blog from sounding like a sales pitch. You want to be friendly and build trust with your visitors. If they are interested they can contact you or find a link to your company website on your blog. Creating a blog may seem intimidating but can be very beneficial in creating an online presence for your business. Luckily there are free blogging sites such as blogger.com and plenty of free and low cost tutorials to walk you through it. If blogging still seems to be a bit intimidating try building pages (called lenses) on Squidoo.com. Squidoo is a great way to brand yourself online. Pick up a free step by step guide at Freesquidooguide.com Whether you decide to build your business online or offline, remember to be the kind of sponsor that you would want for yourself. Be there for your recruits to help motivate them and answer any questions or concerns that they may have.
